A mobile board game about owning the internet

Meme City

Roll. Build. Rug.

Roll down streets like Doomscroll Drive and Ratio Road. Build a skyline that keeps your MemeCash safe. Then go rug the players who left theirs lying around.

Free to play. Nothing to install. Any modern browser, phone or desktop.

How it plays

Three verbs. One city.

  1. Roll

Dice carry your piece around a 40-tile loop of internet streets. Stake a roll at up to ×10 and the board pays out ten times over. Pass LOG ON and payday hits.

Dice refill themselves: five an hour, up to your cap.

  2. Build

MemeCash in your pocket can be taken. MemeCash in a landmark can't. Pour it into the Lemonade Stand, the Meme Museum, City Hall, and it's banked for good. Max all five and you level up.

Every level: +2 to your dice cap, +10% on every payout.

  3. Rug

Land on a transport and the city hands you a target. Crack their vaults in The Vault Job, or knock one of their landmarks down in The Hit and leave them the repair bill.

A shield stops The Hit cold. Nothing stops The Vault Job.

The city

An actual place on the internet.

The board is 3D and the city at its center is yours. Every landmark you build rises on it. Finish a set and that district stands for good while the next one breaks ground in the suburbs.

  • Built for short bursts. A roll takes seconds, and your dice refill while you're away.
  • One shared city. Every tax and every rug feeds the same Moon pot, and the next raid could be on you.
  • Sign in with an email address. Nothing to install.

The board

Know the neighborhood.

Twenty-two streets, four transports, two utilities, and four corners you'll learn to respect.

  • Lurker Lane
  • Rent Free Road
  • Reply Guy Row
  • Doomscroll Drive
  • Autoplay Alley
  • Slop Street
  • Dead Internet Drive
  • Slide-In Street
  • Situationship Street
  • Down Bad Boulevard
  • Ratio Road
  • Main Character Boulevard
  • Much WOW Very Street
  • Crashout Circle
  • It's So Over Street
  • We're So Back Boulevard
  • Aura Farm Avenue
  • Infinite Aura Avenue

MOON Jackpot

One pot, fed by the whole city. Land on the Moon and you always leave with a cut. Level up and clean laps grow your share. Getting rugged resets the streak.

FIND OUT

Pick a door. Behind it: cash, dice, bricks, a shield, a straight shot to LOG ON, or a troll: a slide backwards, a bite for the Moon, or nothing at all. The odds are printed before you choose. Choose anyway.

THE GROUP CHAT

Three offers on the table: MemeCash, bricks, or a shield. Take one. The other two were never yours.

Rugged! Go Touch Grass

The Rug corner takes a bite of your unbanked MemeCash and marches you off to Touch Grass. Escape rolls are free. Roll doubles and you're out, or miss three and walk.

Shields

Hold up to three. One shield eats a Rug corner hit or a landmark attack whole.

Doubles

Roll doubles and your stake comes back. Roll three in a row and you're rugged for speeding. The city has limits.

The long game

One more lap.

Live events

A new event every couple of days, each rewarding a different way to play: Rug Rally, Landlord Frenzy, Squat Fest, Moon Watch, Heist Week. Score, climb the Ranks, and claim the Gold and dice tiers before the clock runs out.

The album

Fill the card album with a free sticker every day and packs you earn or craft. Every set you complete pays dice and Gold. Complete the whole thing and the Moon Rocket piece is yours. No amount of Gold buys it.

Own the street

Buy shares and stalls on the streets and collect rent in MemeCash while you keep rolling. Owners who go quiet leave the door open, and active players move in and work the tile.

The Forge

Turn MemeCash and bricks into relics: Whale Radar, Rug Ward, Loaded Dice, Slumlord's Crowbar. Fixed recipes, no luck involved. Each one lasts a set number of rolls, and spares sell on the Market.

Pieces

Over forty pieces to roll with, from Doge to the Disco Ball, across common, rare and epic tiers. One can only be earned.

Friends

Invite friends with your code. Your daily dice and invite dice wait in the Dice Bank until you want them. Nothing in there expires.

Fair play

Printed on the box.

The city is the joke. The rules aren't.

  • No loot boxes. Card packs are earned or crafted in play. They are never sold for money.
  • What you see is what you get. Every store item lists exactly what's inside before you pay for it.
  • Every spend asks first. One screen, three lines: what you get, what it costs, what you have left.
  • Free dice, every hour. Your dice refill on their own, and the game is tuned so regular play never needs a purchase.
  • It stays in the game. MemeCash, Gold and dice have no cash value. Nothing to cash out, nothing to invest in, nothing to explain to anyone.

FAQ

Questions.

Where can I play?

In your browser, today, on a phone or a desktop. Sign in with your email and you're on the board. Native iPhone and Android apps aren't out yet.

Is it free?

Yes. Meme City is free to play, and your dice refill on their own. Optional purchases buy Gold, dice, a one-time starter bundle and a season pass, and every one lists exactly what you get.

Is it multiplayer?

Yes, without the waiting. There are no turns to sit through: everyone plays in one shared city, so other players' taxes and rugs feed the Moon pot, raids land on other players, and events rank you against the whole city.

What happens when I get rugged?

Land on the Rug corner, or roll three doubles in a row, and you lose 10% of your unbanked MemeCash and go to Touch Grass. Get raided and someone takes a cut of your unbanked MemeCash, or knocks down one of your landmarks and leaves you the repair bill. MemeCash you've already built with is safe. Build often. Carry shields.

Can I win real money?

No. MemeCash, Gold and dice live in the game and can't be cashed out.

Where are the full rules?

Every space, every number and every edge case is on the rules sheet.
